October 11, 2026 — Redesign

  • Sandstone is refreshed page by page. Same look, with new layouts, new copy and real substance on every page, written for an interior design studio in Helsinki.
  • Projects now have the brief, what the studio did, materials, credits, a gallery, project facts and a next project; the projects index has a featured project and an alternating grid.
  • Services have a fixed fee, a timeline and who they suit, plus a section on how fees work. Studio, team, blog and legal pages are redesigned too.
  • The contact page has a new enquiry form with project type, location, budget range and timing.
  • A new menu with the latest project, the studio address and a live clock, a photo footer, a press strip and a closing statement shared across pages.
  • View transitions from project and service cards into their pages, GSAP scroll animations and Lenis smooth scroll, all off under reduced motion.
  • Six colour tokens replace the grey scale, and every page is built from section components.
  • Rewritten README.md, AGENTS.md, Cursor rules and design skill for the refresh.
  • The background video, team detail pages, blog tags, site search and Keen Slider are gone.

September 3, 2026 — Update

  • Expanded the design system skill at .cursor/skills/sandstone-design/SKILL.md: typography, color usage, spacing rhythm, component conventions, and do/don’t rules extracted from the theme’s own code, so AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex) build UI that matches the theme.
  • AGENTS.md links the design rules in every variant.

August 15, 2026 — Update

  • Refreshed Astro + Tailwind CSS dependencies to latest stable releases.
  • Refreshed Astro + Sanity CMS variant dependencies (astro@7.2.2, Tailwind v4.3.3, Sanity v6.9.x, and related packages).
  • Updated integrations and related packages (@lexingtonthemes/seo, @astrojs/*, Tailwind).
  • Refreshed Astro + EmDash CMS variant dependencies (astro@7.2.2, Tailwind v4.3.3, EmDash v0.33.x, and related packages).

August 8, 2026 — Update

  • Added a new Astro + EmDash CMS variant: built-in admin at /_emdash/admin, Portable Text content, CMS menus, LiveSearch across projects/services/blog/team/legal, and Cloudflare Workers deploy (D1 + R2).
  • Includes buyer docs (STARTING-UP.md, SEO.md, AGENTS.md), Cursor rules, and a local SQLite + npm run setup workflow.
  • The Astro + Tailwind CSS and Astro + Sanity CMS variants are unchanged in this release.

June 23, 2026 — Update

  • Upgraded to Astro v7 stable (7.0.0) — no longer on beta.
  • The Astro + Sanity CMS variant front-end has also been updated to Astro v7 stable.
  • Refreshed integrations and dependencies (@lexingtonthemes/seo, @astrojs/*, Tailwind).

June 11, 2026 — Update

  • Upgraded to Astro v7 and Tailwind CSS v4.
  • The Astro + Sanity CMS variant has been upgraded to Astro v7, Tailwind CSS v4, and Sanity v6.
  • Updated integrations and dependencies for v7 compatibility.

March 29, 2026 — Update

  • Added AGENTS.md and Cursor rules (.cursor/rules) for AI-assisted development, on both the Astro + Tailwind CSS and Astro + Sanity CMS versions, each adapted to its repo layout.

January 22, 2026 — Update

  • Added a new variant with Sanity CMS integration with a ready-to-use Sanity Studio and full Astro front-end support.
  • Introduced CMS-powered content types for editorial workflows.
  • Now available as part of the new Full Access and Agency tiers.
