Extended Licensing & Design IP

Standard licenses (Annual, Agency, and Lifetime) do not include:

  • Exclusive usage rights
  • Design IP ownership
  • Redistribution or resale rights
  • Rights to convert themes into WordPress/Webflow/Shopify templates for distribution
  • Rights to embed themes inside website builders or template generators
  • Rights to create theme packs, UI kits, or derivative template products

If you require rights beyond standard usage — such as:

  • Exclusive rights to a theme
  • Full or partial design IP transfer
  • Licensing for redistribution (WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, SaaS builders)
  • Embedding themes inside a SaaS where users can export templates
  • Enterprise-level rights for organization-wide usage
  • Private custom versions or tailored exclusivity

A custom extended license is required. These agreements are handled case-by-case, depending on usage, distribution scope, and ownership requirements.

What is “Design IP”?

Design IP (Intellectual Property) refers to the ownership of the visual and structural design of a theme — including layout, styling, component structure, UX patterns, and the overall creative direction.

Under standard licenses, you receive usage rights, not ownership.
This means you may:

  • Use the theme in unlimited personal, client, or commercial projects
  • Modify and customize it freely
  • Ship it inside proprietary apps (as long as users cannot export the code)

But you do not own the design itself.
You cannot resell it, redistribute it, or convert it into derivative template products without a separate agreement.

A Design IP Transfer grants full or partial ownership of the theme’s design, allowing you to:

  • Claim the theme as your own product
  • Rebrand it, resell it, or distribute it across marketplaces
  • Convert it into WordPress/Webflow/Shopify templates
  • Integrate it inside a SaaS where users can export templates
  • Prevent others from using the design (exclusive rights)

Design IP transfers are not included in Annual, Agency, or Lifetime licenses.
